Causes of World War II

At the end of world war I many people seemed to be at peace. The Treaty of Versailles ended this war and was published in Germany. It stated that Germans could not have many different war supplies, such as tanks, heavy guns, military airplanes, and war ships. The German government was also demanded to hand over colonies that it had in Africa, islands in the Pacific Ocean and different territories in Europe. Also for having caused the war, German was forced to pay the Allied forces 33 billion dollars for damages. Many people in Germany were very up site with this treaty and they felt it was too harsh on the Germans.this created tempers in Germany. A group called the League of Nation was formed to prevent war in the world. Also, the Kellogg-Briand Pact was formed which 62 countries sign. This agreement was to always settle disputes peacefully.
Then World War II started for many different reasons. This first thing that happened was Hitler began to build up an army, which went against the Treaty of Versailles. Then Hitler sends his troops to Rhineland and demands England and France to give up Sudetenland. Both England and France were not ready for a war. Then after that Hitler decides to invade Poland. Both the UK and France were both allies with Poland, so they declared war on Germany.
After two years of fighting the war is still booming. Hitler sent an assult on the British. This assault consisted of planes dropping non-stop bombs all over England for two months straight. It was said that Hitler sent over 1,000 planes to Londand every day for these two months. Finally Hitler decided to stop bombing, but he stilled killed 1,000's of English people and destroying London.
If I were in the United States in September 1914, I would have wanted the US to join this war. I feel that France and England has helped us in the past with different wars. I also think that if Hitler took over France and England, then he would come right after the US and do the same. The US could really help the French And English in this war. The US gas many different supplies that could benefit this war.

This article was very well written and well explained. i believe that the depression in the early 1900's was a lot worse than the depression now. The Great Depression had a lot more homeless people and poverty than we do today. Also The Great Depression had problems with farming and the dust bowl which created many difficulties for the people living at this time. many more people lost their jobs and lost lots of money in stocks. The Great Depression in 100% worse than the tough time that America is going through now.

The Simpsons' Prohibition

In the episode "Homer Simpson Versus the Eighteenth Amendment" the producers of the Simpsons portrayed the 1920's/ Prohibition very well. Even though this is a comedy show, the producers captured many different elements at the time of Prohibition. For example, they show how Moe's was turned into a speakeasy. Also, the producers showed the involvement of the mafia and bootleggers and how these groups bribed the police in these areas. The producers also showed how beer companies went out of business and how some people started to make there own beer. This episode of the Simpsons was a very enjoyable episode.
One scene that should be changed was the scenes that showed how Homer got the beer to Moe's. Homer and Bart used bowling balls and various pipes transportation in order to get the alcohol to Moe's. To change these scenes, the producers should have shown how beer makers really transported their beer to speakeasies.

Should true Americans/Patriots have to give up personal freedoms during wars?

I feel that American do have to give up their freedoms during war. I think this because when in war, your army need many different thing to survive. For example they need weapons and Americans have to supply their army with weapons. This mean some workers will have to change their jobs so they can go work in factories where they will manufacture weapons. Also the army may need supplies like food and shelter. US citizens will have to go out of their way to produce these goods for their army.

Yellow Journalism

THE UNITED STATES ATTACKED!!! SPAIN Is To Blame!!!
The U.S.S Maine was stationed right outside of Cuba when it was BRUTALLY ATTACKED by Spain on February 15, 1898. This caused the U.S.S Maine to explode and sink killing 250 unexpected Americans on the ship. Why would Spain attack the US like that? We have not done anything to them so they should not have done anything to us. Spain clearly wants to START A WAR with us and we should attack back.
